Ohio gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton (D) said yesterday that she would not debate her Republican opponent, Vivek Ramaswamy. She is the fifth statewide candidate so far this year to refuse to debate or decline to commit to doing so. The list also includes:
Marsha Blackburn, Tennessee (R)
Katie Hobbs, Arizona (D)
Jim Pillen, Nebraska (R)
Tommy Tuberville, Alabama (R)
Several other candidates have refused or failed to commit to specific debates while remaining open to debating elsewhere.
Voters can expect at least two debates in Michigan between Abdul El-Sayed and Mike Rogers. In Texas, Ken Paxton committed in July to a debate with James Talarico, but not with a specific host.
