In Northwest Kansas, supporters of the Sternberg Museum of Natural History have launched a campaign to save it after budget cuts forced Fort Hays State University to announce its closure at the end of this year.
The museum hosts a collection of more than 3 million fossils and other specimens, including world-famous marine fossils from 80 million years ago.
