At about 194 years old, an Aldabra giant tortoise named Jonathan is the world’s oldest known land animal. He lives far off Africa’s west coast on the island of St. Helena.
According to the New York Times, although Jonathan is now mostly blind, “he still has excellent hearing and a strong libido.” He enjoys greeting visitors and having his neck petted.
