The LAX people mover train, designed to take air travelers out to drivers, rental cars, and the LA Metro, is late and over budget. It won’t open until at least four years after its initial completion date of 2023, and the cost has ballooned from $1.95 billion to at least $3.3 billion.
As one columnist for the Los Angeles Times wrote in August, it’s “the most ridiculously mismanaged construction project in the United States.”
