Mayor Zohran Mamdani is at war with his city’s teachers union.
In July, the New York City Council passed a bill granting one-time bonuses of up to $10,000 to low-paid school aides, many of whom work with students with disabilities.
Mamdani sued to block it, arguing that the measure bypasses collective bargaining and would cost the city around $325 million.
