Of the eight major candidates running to become the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Maine, two have previously flipped a Republican-held seat:

• Troy Jackson, who flipped a Maine Senate seat in 2016 and has won 10 general elections.

• Shenna Bellows, who also flipped a Maine Senate seat in 2016 and has won three general elections (she lost to Susan Collins in the 2014 U.S. Senate race).
